Étoilés is an immersive stage experience that weaves together quantum physics, bodily movement, and collective intelligence to reveal who we truly are: beings of light—more radiant per kilogram than a star, two hundred thousand times more than the sun. 22 performers on stage, including 2 circus dancers and 20 young dancers from the Chaville / Ville d’Avray Contemporary Dance Conservatory. A live musician. Interactive digital technologies where movement generates light. An all-ages performance (ages 7 and up).
We are luminous beings in a luminous universe, constantly exchanging energy and information with the cosmos. Returning to light is not just a scientific concept; it is a return to our original nature. This is precisely what Étoilés offers. Through photonics—which demonstrates that every human being is literally a photonic source—and through live performance—which gathers bodies on stage and in the audience—Étoilés delivers a powerful, embodied metaphor: we each carry our own light. And this light only fully radiates when joined with that of others.
These discoveries are not mere metaphors. They are certified, measured, and documented scientific facts, brought to life through collaboration with teams from the LuMIn Laboratory and Le sas Paris-Saclay. The scenography of Étoilés makes these facts visible, tangible, and embodied. What quantum equations describe, interactive light on stage makes manifest. What researchers observe under a microscope, the dancers’ bodies allow us to feel.
Theories are no longer enough. It is time to bring forth light. Together.
This project is intergenerational: the choreographic piece connects children aged 8 to 10 with professional artists in a co-creation that dissolves traditional boundaries between performers and the community. It is deeply rooted in its territory: Each performance is truly unique, bringing together twenty children from the local host community. the light scenography is nourished by data from the local living and working environment that hosts it.
